Until we meet again...

AnimalTributes.com was created for those who would like to post an animal tribute, a memorial to your beloved animal friend and/or companion.

Jessie. Our beloved husky-shepherd crossed over on October 18th 2005. She came to us as a rescue dog in 1992 when she was already 18 mos. old and 130 lbs. Jessie was likened to a ROCK, strong, independent, determined. I miss her every day.

Elmo. "Little Lamb" Our boy. From Aluren Cattery in New Jersey, he traveled to us by Air in November 1994. He died suddenly of a rare blood disease in 2003. Although he was not domesticated, Elmo had a unique personality that was evident the minute his eyes meet yours. A playful, mischevous, devil-may-care attitude. He showed affection by butting his head against yours or slinging saliva towards you. There will never be another Elmo on earth... we look forward to being with him again, on that Fine day.

All is now well with our farm’s sweet office manager cat, Tattoo. As you all know she was terminally ill and fought bravely and without fuss or demands. As with all of us, the time does come when it’s time to “go home.” This afternoon Ethan and I lifted Tattoo on to a fluffy, clean white rug and took her to Dr. Hamilton, who helped her cross the Rainbow Bridge with much love and tenderness. He’s a kind and gentle man, and after an examination agreed that it was time for Tattoo to cross. Most important of all, the dignity that is an integral part of every cat’s essence has been restored to our friend Tattoo.

We all will miss her, but let’s celebrate what a great and totally cool friend she has been to everyone at the farm. She has been and will always be an inspirational cat, who, despite her blindness and physical disabilities always had a “brrrup” greeting for everyone that she encountered and a purr that wouldn’t quit. Her loyalty and love are a model for all of us to live by.

Instead of seeing an empty space in the office, let’s celebrate Tattoo as she is now - whole again, without pain, charging through the fields, conquering trees, proudly hunting and bringing her prizes home, preened and beautiful, and in her “office manager” style, making all of the arrangements for her cat-friends to join her in the future as they cross the Bridge.
